Cincinnati Candidates at the Greenwich 2011

On October 15, 2011, 18 Candidates for Cincinnati City Council attended a Forum held at "The Greenwich", a local club in Walnut Hills, Cincinnati.

A panel of four questioners from the local media asked each Candidate their views on the three main problems facing the City in the coming year(s) as well as other topics of Voter interest.

The City's budget of course was the biggest topic each candidate addressed since it is the area of most concern for the voter and the City Administration. The answers were interesting and also enlightening.

Voters can get a good sense of the Candidate after watching their responses to the questions.

Check out the results of this Candidates' Forum on Arachnid's web site.

Two New Valuable Employee Additions

Arachnid Productions is proud to announce the addition of two new employees.

Bob Leibold is a well-known producer/director in the Metropolitan Cincinnati area. An Emmy-nominated producer, Mr. Leibold brings his expertise to the company whose aim is to provide “video created for the web.”

Up to now, the primary delivery system for a video production was either on a DVD or VCD sent out to potential buyers or a broadcast, cablecast or satcast of the work. Now all production work produced by Arachnid Productions is intended for the web. Ancillary distribution will always include optical delivery (DVD or VCD) but the main focus for the new company is web delivery, either onto a customer’s website or the customer’s targeted online video network.

“It’s a whole new paradigm shift!” Mr. Leibold says. “The whole thrust of Arachnid Productions is to use the vast resources of the Internet to deliver the production to the viewer. There is no more ‘there’…it is all right here, in front of us. The delivery system is immediate, responsive, and a potential marketing miracle if exploited correctly.”

Sean Feeney is an award-winning software engineer with years of experience in the video and technology fields, including previously working in CTO and CIO roles for tri-state tech start-ups and small businesses. He started with online video while it was still in its infancy, years before flash-based systems like YouTube came into existence.

“63% of all Americans now have broadband internet access,” Mr. Feeney quotes. “That figure is even higher in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas thanks to Cincinnati Bell rolling out Zoomtown DSL so early in the decade. Online video viewership numbers aren’t based on outdated mathematic models like television and radio numbers are. Every download is counted, and you can even find out whether the viewer watched the entire clip or not. Why wouldn’t your business want to take advantage of this new advertising medium?”

The Cincinnati-based company has a number of productions in the works and is accepting new customers. Services include scripting, directing, pre- and post-production, video on demand, DVD print-on-demand, and independent online video distribution, marketing, and analytics. “Made-for-web series are our specialty,” says Mr. Feeney. “Consumers don’t want to consume video through linear broadcasting mechanisms anymore and we meet that demand.”
